British entrepreneur and founder of Virgin Group, Sir Richard Branson is all set to wet his feet in cruising business in partnership with private investment firm Bain Capital. In a joint statement the companies announced that this new cruise company will be homes in Miami-Fort Lauderdale but did not announce any tentative date for the launch. Planning is to design and construct two new cruise ships at the moment according to made announcement.
Former CEO of The World, Residences at Sea, Tom McAlpin will join Virgin Cruises as chief executive officer. He has also served as a president of Disnet Cruise Line.
Currently the Virgin Group comprises more than 400 companies in very diverse sectors like phones, banking, airlines and trains to name a few. He started his first business The student at the age of sixteen and kept on moving forward with numerous other companies. On the announcement of new cruise business, Mr. Branson said, “We plan to shake up the cruise industry and deliver a holiday that customers will absolutely love”.
