Sunwing vacations announced four new flights over the summer from Calgary to sun destinations offering Calgarians a number new connection options.
These will include two new direct flights to Cuba in the summer of 2015. The weekly service will be from Calgary to Cayo Coco, Cuba each Wednesday and to Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba each Thursday in additional to flights to Varadero, Cuba every Tuesday that Sunwing operated in the summer of 2014.
Other destinations added by the vacation provider are to Mexico, with direct weekly flights to Los Cabos being introduced to complement the existing weekly services to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta.
In addition, the weekly flight to Grand Bahama that commenced for the first time in November 2014 will be maintained to run throughout the summer months. The direct flight service from Calgary to Montego Bay, Jamaica will also continue.
Andrew Dawson, chief operating officer for the Sunwing Travel Group commented, “Our flights from Calgary this winter have been extremely well received and we are delighted to be able to extend our summer programming to maintain some of the most popular routes all year.”
“We are pleased to see more great additions to our YYC route network,” added Stephan Poirier, senior vice president and chief commercial officer for The Calgary Airport Authority. “Sunwing’s increase in service means our growing destination list offers even more choices for our travellers looking to escape to a sun destination.”
