“To be at total peace with your current state of being. The way you feel when you have no worries” is the meaning of the Jamaican word “IRIE”.
jamaica
That single word accurately describes my recent Jamaican experience. There is something about that Island and the laid back lifestyle that makes you slow down and appreciate the beauty around you. I had the opportunity to tour 17 resorts around the Island from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios to Negril. Every single resort I went to had its own unique ‘vibe’ and although similar in may ways, one may have more pools, or a better beach or nicer rooms to make them all different. I personally stayed at the Royalton White Sands and the new adult only RIU PALACE JAMAICA and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend either of these properties. I saw resorts ranging from a “Family Value Property” to the higher end “Adult Only” and am excited to share what I have learned with future travellers wanting to experience this incredible destination. Take the opportunity to get out and explore the Island. Some excursion examples? Dunn’s River Falls; , Glass Bottom Boat, Snorkeling off a Catamaran (there are several large enough for a group;) shopping in Montego Bay; Margarittaville, A trip to Bob Marley’s home/grave site; The Bobsled Run from the movie “Cool Runnings” to name a few!

For me, even though I loved having the opportunity to tour all of the properties and walk the beautiful sandy beaches, it was the beauty of the people of Jamaica that made this destination so intriguing for me. Everyone has a smile and a kind word for you. They are a very happy people and make you feel so very welcomed.
I would recommend this amazing destination to anyone in a heartbeat – I can hardly wait to return! YA MON NO PROBLEM!
