The Canadian airline Westjet is facing some trouble from the scam phone calls people are getting in their name. This is a phishing scam that is hurting Westjet reputation.
WestJet’s manager of public relations, Robert Palmer said, “It’s a big headache, I’ll be honest with you”.
Many people in Newfoundland and Labrador are wary of these phone calls, in which a pre-recorded computer voice tells people that they have won free tickets from Westjet.
They’re using the names of iconic Canadian brands in an effort to portray that there is some credibility to this scam. But of course, we know that it is not.
Company has advised people to ignore such calls and absolutely do not give any any personal or credit card information over the phone in-response to these calls.
